What is Family Scouting?

Scout Me In

Family Scouting is the BSA’s initiative to open Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts) to both boys and girls. In Cub Scouts, this means that Packs have the option to be boys only, mixed gender, or girls only. Pack 602 is mixed gender, because we believe that a lot of learning and growth comes from boys and girls interacting as peers in scouting activities.

For more details on how Family Scouting is implemented at a policy level, visit the official BSA Family Scouting page at https://www.scouting.org/familyscouting/.

This page will be updated soon with lots more information about how Pack 602 implements Family Scouting principles. Until then, if you’d like to learn more about how our pack implements mixed-gender scouting, contact us and we’ll be happy to tell you more!
