“There is no teaching to compare with example.”
Robert Baden-Powell
In Pack 602, we do our best to go above and beyond in teaching personal values and learning to embody the Scout Oath and Law.
The Scout Oath
On my honor, I will do my best; To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
We help guide our Scouts in understanding what the Scout Oath means to them as individuals, and give them to the tools to follow it.
The Scout Law
A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
We explore what it means to embody each portion of the Scout Law, and help our Scouts to apply it in their daily lives.
The Cub Scout Motto
Do your best!
The Cub Scout Motto encourages Scouts to apply themselves fully in all of their adventures.
Not everyone is the best at everything, so Cub Scouting rewards Scouts who put in their best effort to learn and improve, rather than simply grading their results.
Inclusion and Acceptance
Scouting is for everyone! We strive to promote the core values of inclusion and acceptance through understanding and family.
We are incredibly proud of the BSA organization for its progress toward a brighter tomorrow for everyone of all genders, ethnicities, sexualities, abilities, and faiths.
Personal Growth
We build self-esteem, character, respect, and personal responsibility, by encouraging our Scouts to thoughtfully and fully engage.
From core advancement projects to exciting extra-curriculars like the Pinewood Derby, we prepare our Scouts to achieve and excel in everything they do.
Community Responsibility
We believe that truly understanding our role in society starts at home, in our home, neighborhood, and community.
We’re proud to partner annually with organizations like the Laurel Police, Fire Department, American Legion, and several local charitable groups to help better our community.
